Machakos: Kenya's fastest developing county

A few years ago, leaders from all over the world challenged African countries “to think and innovate.”
I am happy to mention that times have changed and Machakos County has not been left behind.
Governor Alfred Mutua has been on the forefront to make this county an epitome of beauty as well as development. Despite a few challenges that the Governor has encountered his dreams are still valid.
The County government has been working day and night to ensure that Machakos is a corner of paradise. The governor has been on the forefront in the development of hotels, water, transport, real estate and tourism.
While in office, he offered investors “free land.” The move was meant to create more job opportunities as the national and county government work together to solve the problem of unemployment.
It is encouraging to have leaders who have dared to dream. There are several projects like the Machakos People’s Park and Kenya power substation that make Machakos residents proud.
Water shortage was considered to be a synonym of this county until the governor oversaw the launching of Machakos County Comprehensive Water and Food Security programme.
Real estate investors are ever shifting their wealth to this county because they understand what the future holds. It does not take a year to discover that Machakos is the best place to live.
