Kangundo: Man poisons himself to death after being dumped

 

A 30-year-old man from Uamani area in Kangundo sub-county Machakos county commuted suicide by poisoning himself after his wife dumped him and returned to her home.

According to Kyeleni location chief Dominic Musau, the man had argued with his wife where he left and went out. On coming back the man found the wife had gone carrying everything in the house leaving only his clothes.
"The wife left with everything, she literally swept the house clean, only the man's clothes were left," noted chief Musau.
In the same area, a 50-year-old man hanged himself after his wife locked him in the house so that he won't go out drinking. The man is said to have arrived home drunk and argued with the wife since he wanted to go back drinking when she opted to lock him up.
The wife had gone to do her laundry and on coming back she found her husband's body hanging from the rooftop of the house.
The bodies of the two men were taken to Kangundo level four hospital mortuary.
Chief Musau asked religious leaders in Kangundo sub-county to guide their followers and address the issue of suicide that has been rampant lately.
