After the mega success of Churchill’s comedy show, Laugh Festival that hosted the best in African comedy, Patrick ‘Salvado’ Idringi also hosted a similar one in Uganda recently.
Churchill’s show dubbed Laugh Festival Africa hosted some of the continent’s best comedians including Kenya’s own Churchill, MC Jessy, Professor Hamo and Sleepy David,  Salvado from Uganda, Arthur Nkusi (Rwanda), Carl Ncube (Zimbabwe), Eddie Kadi (DRC), Ndumsio Lindi (South Africa) and Malawi’s Daliso Chaponda.

Uganda’s funnyman Salvador also had an impressive line up for Africa Laughs that included some of the Laugh Festival talent and Kenya’s Eric Omondi.
Salvado told The Observer that the show was a success with “a full house of patrons paying Ushs 100,000, this is crazy for comedy. It shows how far we have grown as an industry. Next year we are going to a bigger venue.”
Africa laughs is a concept Salvado had in 2012 after he was invited to perform alongside other comedians from around the world.
It was there that he decided that the same should be done for African comedians. Idringi, alongside other comedians, started Africa Laughs and in 2013 the first show took place at Imperial Royale hotel.

On the day of the event, Eric Omondi was miles away on a different continent for the annual three-day Busan International Comedy Festival in South Korea that kicked off on the same day.
The disappointed Salvador mentioned this snub, in what could be interpreted as “a bitter manner” during his stage performance at Serena hotel on the night of the festival.
He said,
“After paying him, Eric Omondi refuses to show up. He instead went to South Korea.”
Eric is yet to post a public explanation about the snub. As we wait, here is a sketch he did on how to be Tanzania’s mega star Diamond Platnumz.
