This Is Why Diamond’s Interview With Lulu Hassan Was ‘Banned’ On Citizen TV

Lulu Hassan interviewed Diamond Platnumz but unfortunately the interview was blocked from airing on Citizen TV.
Diamond touched in Nairobi on Thursday ahead of his concert in Meru on Saturday night. But before he flew to the miraa capital, he had several interviews with media personalities.
Citizen TV’s Lulu Hassan was among the luckily few that had the privilege of interviewing the Tanzanian superstar.
But unfortunately Lulu’s pre-recorded interview with Diamond didn’t air on Citizen TV. Standard Media Group who were the official partners of Diamond’s gig in Meru, blocked Lulu Hassan’s interview with Diamond from airing on Citizen TV.
Apparently the agreement between Radio Maisha and Watanashati organizers (who partnered with SG for Diamond’s gig in Meru) gave Standard Group exclusive rights on marketing and media coverage of Diamond in Kenya for the Meru concert.
After learning of Citizen TV’s intention with Diamond, Standard Group through their lawyer wrote to the organizers of Diamond’s concert in Meru reminding them of the dire consequences of breaching their media sponsorship agreement.
“It has been brought to our client’s attention that the artiste Diamond Platinumz, who constitutes the object in the media sponsorship agreement with our client, is scheduled to appear on Citizen Television from 10pm on 26,08,2016. This appearance shall be in direct breach of the Media sponsorship agreement to which you are bound. Our client has incurred considerable expense in marketing and availing publicity for the concert contemplated under its agreement. We have instructions to take appropriate legal action against you to vindicate our client’s rights under the agreement without any further notice or reference to you.” The letter by SG read.
